Actually Good Writing

Reconstruction: I wrote this on my driveway after school on a beautiful afternoon. It had just rained, the breeze was gentle and warm, the sun was coming out, and everything felt vibrant and green. This piece began as an attempt to capture not just that type of nature but also the feeling it gave me, but it quickly evolved into an attempt to tease out where I stood with one of my best friends, who wasn't talking to me at the time. I also experimented with writing dialogue without quotation marks, after the style of Cormac McCarthy.
